Columbus Testing Services is a local business that offers a comprehensive inspection and Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) service to a wide range of clients both in Scarborough and the surrounding area. Originally started up in early 2005 the firm has now been successfully trading for a number of years providing a high quality PAT service on the North Yorkshire East coast generally in the area bordered by the towns of Whitby, Bridlington and Malton. Areas that lie outside this region can often be catered for by prior arrangemant, so please do call us to discuss your requirements!
CTS delivers a comprehensive Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) service package to premises in a manner that is designed to cause the minimum disruption to the running of the business while ensuring that best practice is always implemented.
CTS also provide PAT services to private individuals, for example self employed contractors who own and use 240v / 110v power tools in the course of their work. We also provide a PAT service to musicians who use electrical equipment during their performance. This might include keyboards, instrument amplifiers, mixers, effects racks as well as the PA system main and foldback power amplifiers. Do remember that removable power leads as well as any 13amp mains extension leads you use all need testing as they are classed as electrical items in their own right and so will require inspection! Many venues these days require proof that you have had appliance testing carried out before they will allow you to set up and use your equipment. So play safe and get your gear tested...
The CTS engineer has many years practical experience gained from working with a wide range of electrical and electronic equipment, both in a professional capacity and also by having had a keen interest in electronic construction as a hobby right from their early school days...
The Columbus Testing Services engineer has held the City and Guilds 237702 qualification for the In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment based on the IEE code of practice since April 2001.
All 230/240v mains equipment as well as 110v "site" equipment tested.
Full public liability insurance to the value of £5 million is held by CTS.
The engineer holds a current Enhanced CRB Clearance Certificate.
